1950's House Wife Living in 2009!

My thoughts on the things that matter most to me!

Lauren 101 July 1, 2009

I’m 23 years old. I have been married for almost 2 years and my husband. My husband, Robert and I just became home owners. We have a yellow lab named Secret and a kitty cat named Link. I’m from Northern Indiana where I grew up living out in the country with my father, mother, very artistic younger sister and a bunch of dogs, cats and ducks.

I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana in May of 2008. I have a BS in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing. I enjoy social marketing and I try to learn more about it every day. I love event planning. Blogging intrigues me so I have decided to give it a try. I’m not the best writer, but I hope to become better by writing more. I’m not sure what I will be blogging about, but I’m sure I will come up with at least some interesting content.

One of my favorite things to do is watch and review television. My husband calls me an unpaid TV critic. I keep up to date on all TV news and I’m addicted to any and all TV spoilers. I’ve been known to read spoilers for shows that I don’t even watch. *Service Plug: For those of you who love TV like me, AT&T Uverse is the way to go. Their DVR is amazing! You can record up to 4 shows at one time and watch your recorded show on any other non-DRV television in the house. Perfect for any TV Guru!

I enjoy reading a good book. I’ve been known to read a 300+ page book in less than one day. Since August of 2008, I have read more than 32 books. I know, I know…but when I get my nose in a good book, I have a hard time putting it down. I’m not big on the classics however. I wish I could read more classics, but I just can’t get into them. I enjoy book series. I prefer getting to know the characters and following their lives and adventures through numerous books.

When I’m really stressed I bake. When I bake, I really bake. For Christmas one year I made seven different kinds of cookies and sweets and gave them to friends and family for presents. I had so many baked goods I didn’t know what to do with them. Someday, I would love to own my own bakery. I keep a living list of sweets I would make in my Bakery some day. Oh I can’t wait!

Lastly, I have a huge love of music. Music has always been a part of my life, starting when my dad use to play the guitar and sing The Beatles and The Eagles to me. One of the greatest feelings in the world is when you close your eyes and feel the music as it moves through your body, until you realize that what you’re hearing is so meaningful and beautiful that it has brought tears to your eyes. Ahh, just the thought gives me chills!

Well, there is your crash course in Lauren 101.
